Day 6 - Camp Moves and Roadside Scouting

Day 6, and we’re still getting our camp-moving routine dialed in. It's all about efficiency—packing up and setting out with the river always in sight, but not always in reach. The low flow keeps the pace mellow, the water barely rippling as we load up. No need to rush—plenty of time to get this system nailed before the big push downriver.

Today’s scouting wasn’t from the water. With the river low, we took to the road, tracing its path from above. There’s a different perspective from up there—long stretches of calm water, canyon walls standing tall, but no signs of any rapids waiting to bite. We’re looking for those key spots—places we’ll hit soon enough—that’ll deliver on content and keep the journey interesting.

Tonight’s camp is set, gear laid out, and the sun dropping behind the canyon. Tomorrow, we’ll move again, maybe even smoother this time. We’re just getting started.
