Byers Canyon didn’t hold back today—rocky, shallow, and just enough water to keep us on our toes. The river was bony, each turn a puzzle of stone and current. But after scouting some solid lines, we found our flow. Made a few smooth moves through the tight spots, but not without paying the price. The rocks were unforgiving, and more than once, we went for a swim. Brushed up and cold, but hey—that’s how you learn, right?
Once we dragged ourselves back to camp, we had something to look forward to: great food. Trained Ethan on the wok, and he took to it like he’s been cooking riverside his whole life. Knocked out a meal that hit the spot—hot, fresh, and perfect after a day of getting tossed around by the river. Good food, good company, and a few bruises to laugh about.
Tomorrow’s another day, another canyon, and probably more rocks. But we’re ready!
